Carol Andrews was elected to the Everett School Board in September 2007, currently serves as Vice President and was the Board's Legislative Representative for five years. An alumni of Cascade High School, Carol has spent much of her life in the Everett community, studying at the University of Washington (B.A. Business Administration) and has been employed as a CPA for over 25 years practicing both public and private accounting.
As Treasurer for the Bond and Levy Committee for Everett Schools for the past 14 years, Carol has participated in numerous levy and bond campaigns supporting our schools. Additionally, she was an active volunteer in her children's schools and served as Treasurer for the Drama Boosters Club at H.M. Jackson High School. She is a member of the Meridian Chapter of the Everett Woman's Book Club and spent many heart-warming years volunteering with her son at the Everett Animal Shelter.
Carol, or Andy to many, resides in Mill Creek with her husband, Jim Hopkins, a retired Everett attorney. Their two sons, Matthew and Andrew, are graduates of H.M. Jackson High School. Matthew currently resides in Taiwan where he is teaching English to Taiwanese children, and Andrew lives in Boston studying Theatrical Stage and Production Management at Emerson College. Carol's stepchildren, Jimmy and Shelby, are proud graduates of Everett High School and have settled in the Seattle area. Shelby followed in her father's footsteps earning her law degree and is a practicing attorney. Jimmy left his career at Seattle Best Coffee to take on the challenging role of a stay-at-home Dad and has become a well-known volunteer in his children's schools. In addition to her service on the Board, Carol is employed as Controller at the Everett Golf and Country Club.
